watercolour, white pencil (oh the temptation to go buy a white gel pen is increasing!)

I didn't have any reference for the cloth here, hence why it does not behave as cloth :P am going to have to get over this fear sometime!

I was just going to say that it looked like you'd submitted this one twice (:
The sleeve doesn't look bad, imho. I recommend taking a look at these tutorials: [link] [link] [link] There's plenty of other very useful tutorials out there.

But besides this, I like the colours you've used, they fit well each other - and the grass is painted very nicely. Perhaps using salt would make the branches' structure more interesting?

Thanks very much for your comments and the links to tutorials. I've just read them and they look really helpful - so keen to start another painting straight away :)

I was proud of the grass, so thanks, I'm glad you like it. The white pencil was really nice to use! I definitely need salt for all these three I uploaded yesterday - I feel like they're all lacking in texture rather a lot. Ok, definitely need to do another one straight away now :)

Go for it, you've got this precious grimoire salt, I'd love to see the effect it gives (:

ooh that reminds me, I had an idea for a painting of a witch with a grimoire after our last conversation about this. Maybe I will do that one next! And use grimoire salt on it - how appropriate hehe

Ooh, that's awesome! Hehe, recently I thought about making a self portrait. Do you remember the crazy witch sketch I've made recently? The one flying on a broomstick and screaming out loud. I thought of drawing myself in this manner, with flying weasels around :D

well, you know you can't go wrong with weasels ;-) especially now us aussies know how to recognise a weasel! I do remember the sketch, I look forward to seeing it as a full picture! Will you be in your historical re-enactment costume I wonder? :)

Oh, that's a very interesting idea, I'll need to seriously consider it.
